Breaking 406 2.0HDi 110 Saloon, Many Parts

Post by fattail95 »

Afternoon all,

Unfortunately my beloved 406 was written off last week, after 18 years in the family from new its time to say goodbye to our girl. I have collected so many bits for it over my years with the car, so will list all I can remember, but for any other requests do feel free to ask. I will try to add some pictures of the car over the next few days too. I will be breaking the whole car so any requested parts, just ask.

NOTEWORTHY PARTS:

Brand new suspension springs and shocks all round, unfitted and in box £100 full set
4 x Peugeot Starfish coupe alloys, recently refurbished with brand new centre caps and 4 excellent UniRoyal RainSport3 tyres (£180 set)
Half leather interior, including leather door cards, immaculate condition (£90)
4 x injectors (reconditioned injectors from Darwen Diesels, done 2 years ago @£125 each) £100 set
Brand new turbocharger (unfitted) £100
Strut brace £20
Brand new China Blue bonnet, only been on the car 1 year and fully rust free everywhere including lip (£70)
2 x set of Genuine Peugeot rubber floor mats, excellent condition (£10ea)
Yatour Bluetooth adaptor for stock headunit, works with steering wheel controls (£25)
Recently retrimmed leather steering wheel (semi-mux), as good as brand new (£20)
2 x intercooler (1 brand new, 1 used but very good condition, replaced 2 years ago) £40 for new one, £20 for used
Metal interior door handles full set (£20)
Brand new lift pump (£25)
Brand new aftermarket black carpet mats (£20)
Silver Type-B display (very rare) £25
Silver A/C panel (£15)
Silver radio (£15)
Silver interior trim, around speedo and passenger vent (£10)
Rear lights, genuine and brand new 2 years back (£10 a side)

This car was really looked after and has had thousands spent on it in the last few years, it had so much left to give but unfortunately its time to go now. Here are some pics:

Oh no, that is such a shame - I know how much time and attention you spent in the car....

There is a guy on Facebook looking for half leather saloon interior.

I would like the steering wheel, and maybe the Yatour if it will fit a stock D8 stereo, for my D8 Coupe :-)

Sadly I've just bought some good condition Starfish alloys - otherwise I would have bought yours...

I hope everything is sorted out with insurance etc, you must be gutted :(

Hi Kelv,

Yeah its such a shame, I was heartbroken. To make matters worse it was my best friend, and he too knew the history of the car and the time and money that had gone into it, so we settled outside of insurance which meant I wasn't left short on what I'd spent on it.

The steering wheel is yours, but I wont be able to unbolt it at the moment as I'm going to have to move the car soon. Really wasn't expecting the wheel to go that quickly! But I'll let you know ASAP.

Best Regards,
Ben.

No hurry, I know it's needed to keep the car mobile ( molegrips are only good short term )

I see you've put it on Facebook, let's hope you get a good home for your parts...

Just out of curiosity: why was it written off? Seems such a waste :( Did you have an accident with it?
