1999 S LXHDI 110

Post by LXHDi110 »

Well time for her to go  , i dont want to scrap her but she been sat on drive for 7 months now. Both front springs went in Feb this year, MOT ran out Feb, tax in a few days. Engine, gearbox and body in fair condition, exhaust only done few thousand miles, had new battery, glow plugs and MFU about 8000 miles ago. Three good tyres. Tidy inside and out. About £50 diesel in the tank maybe more. Nearly got 160000 on clock but up to starting new job with vehicle in Jan she was doing over 100 miles a day and i always got 45+ mpg. Engine does have a diesel tuner engine chip box which is set to about 3/4 which gave loads more torque and made lowend speeds more drivable. This chip is advertised elsewhere but open to offers with or without the car. Its gives about 35+ more bhp but its not a remap, i found it makes car more drivable, economical and extra power if needed. This car was just a car to travel 100+ miles a day for work, but i ended up loving her. As she stands now would make cheap repair / runabout for someone mechanical, or donor parts for another car. Iv started her up once a month while been stood and she runs a dream. If anyone is interested before she goes to scrapy then make me an offer. I can get about £150 scrap locally, and prob £20 - 30 for the diesel. Open to offers on tuner box. She will need trailering away thou. £250 today and she is yours complete with chip.
Car and chip are advertised elswhere seperatly for £300 & £100.
Come on give a pug a home. I can mail you any info you require, photos, video etc. cheers

I remember this fella (and the car) from ages ago and can say this would be a cracking buy at that price

It's an estate too if I remember.

Well she is still here and now listed at £150 for car (scrap value), and just cant believe it. If she dont go today then scrap yard it is. Iv noticed 406 prices are really rock bottom, i really dont understand why. At this rate il be paying to get rid of her

It seems no one wants 406's, prob cos of unreliability problems. Scrap it and save someone the hassle of fixing it.

Flicking through my local rag last night I spotted a yr 2000 1.8 estate, sub 90K miles, with MOT and TAX and roof bars all for £650 notes :o

We're all doomed :(

I got £650 for my 2001 GTX 2.0 HDI 110bhp, 144k miles, 1mth mot, knackered gearbox (no 2nd gear) and other things wrong with it.
I was gutted, but looking back it was the best thing I've done. Altho the Vectra v6 I got to replace it, needs a tappet or 2 doing to stop the engine knocking.
which I aint gonna bother fixing as I'm getting an N reg BMW 328i next weekend.
