Breaking 406 V6
Hi all
Thought i would post this here before listing stuff on feebay
I am breaking a 406 V6 on a R plate , engine is U/S (cambelt snapped) and the leather interior has gone into my other 406 , rest of the bits are available tho .
Also have a very clean interior from my P reg , its grey cloth and is in vgc
Thanks

I wouldn't write off the engine just yet! even though the head(s) are mashed they'll be some crazy dude out there that'll fancy a nice winter project on it! you'll just need to be realistic on the price but as a complete job with gearbox and clutch it'll make a good donor transplant for something out there!

Nice one mate , got it sitting at the workshop , i bought the car for the leather interior for my other one knowing the engine was knackered so i dont mind letting it go cheap .

If you're still stripping it, do you have the heated seat switches & surround and would you be able to send them to me here? (less than a fiver)

I thought you'd given up on the electrics/was hoping your other one had them too. Ah well, don't hurt to ask

Re: Breaking 406 V6
That could explain it Steve , everybody keeps asking for brembo's and as i dont know much about the running gear assumed all V6's had them but mine defo has lucas ones cos it took me 2 hours to get the wheels off to check (locking nuts with no keys lol)steve_earwig wrote:I thought only coupes had the Brembos

Re: Breaking 406 V6
I think the V6 saloon just has 'bigger' discs/pads rather than Brembos.
You ought to list out some of the goodies people can snap up like:
Self dimming mirror?
rear sun blind (actually has it got one? mine's goosed)
JBL amp/speakers?
leccy seat 'wiring/switches'?
leather wheel?
Alloys?

Nah, same as the tubbyWelton wrote:I think the V6 saloon just has 'bigger' discs/pads rather than Brembos.
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
