blower motor

Post by bigblue2 »

has anybody got or know where i can get a motor from, it seems mine has had it as it's got power to it but nothing happening, phoned a few breakers but they always have the wrong type, mine is a 98 exec with climate, two breakers have told me the usual thing over the phone " yea we've got 3-4 here " when i've got there they are either the later ones or non air con, which they've all told me will fit, i'm not sure about thatas the wiring is different etc, also looking for a blue drivers door for the same car-think its called china blue, the dark metalic blue a lot of 406's were, again been to see a few actually brought the last one but when i cleaned it up and t cut its its riddled with dings, not expecting it to be showroom but this looks like it was target practice for the army  , it would need to be mids, shrop, or cheshire areas , any help would be great

The dark metallic blue you're after is probably either called "Calypso Blue" or "Rhodes Blue" (same colour apparently). "China Blue" is lighter and didn't come until around 1999 - it's still used on the 407 and looks slightly purple. If in doubt, look at the paint code which should be sprayed on the nearside strut mount under the bonnet, usually in yellow or white paint. There's several threads and web pages if you search which list the paint code and the name

A new motor's about £150 from the dealers so you probably want to start watching ebay. Alternatively it's usually possible to effect a repair by unplugging the big red wire from the unit, cleaning up the burn deposits, and soldering it back.

I think I have a burnt one sat in Wolverhampton if you want to collect it and have a play trying to fix it

There should be 3 crosshead screws holding the blower in
