Sale: 406 exec 2.0l (turbo)

Post by TehAgent »

Right, thats it had a frigging nuff,

Got a 406 2 litre exec for sale, cream leather interior, top spec as usual with these cars, 99k miles on the clock,

THE GOOD

- Aircon, that works flawlessly,
- Electric seats
- Power steering
- auto windows up, upon dead locking the car
- Auto windscreen wipers
- electric mirrors
- new through exhaust including cat (been welded though as had a problem with speed humps and the clamps)
- new tires
- new speedo control box with working spare
- spot lights
- 3x 3 point safty belts in the rear.
- 6 disk auto changer in the boot.
- Baileys dump valve
- New HT leads
- New spark plugs
- cam belt change at 80k miles
- new radiator
- 5 months MOT still on it
- Taxed till November
- FSH to 82k miles with all paper work including old MOT's and receipts
- recent oil change (with in the last moth)
- recent tracking (with in the last month)

THE BAD

- Needs the actuator on the turbo replacing as the internal diaphragm has failed, thus the waste gate is open, so at present no turbo but does not stop the car running.
- will need the front fans looking at ( think its a temp sensor problem but my hands are too big to get at it with any kind of tool) have rigged a manual switch inside the dash board to turn them on and off at temperature.
- Needs 1 new alloy / steel rim for spare
- CD head unit stopped working for some strange reason, wires and feeds are ok but unit its self is borked.
- Usual age chips to bonnet, not too many though
- some bastard keyed the passenger side drivers door, to rear wing. been advised by National tires that the door will buff out, but the scratch on the rear wing will need a respray, quote £275 for it.
- few other dinks and dents, but you need to be rather close to notice them.
- Drivers side seat showing ware, and also does not heat any more, been like this since i got it. been advised by the wife the passengers side makes her bum all nice and warm in the winter so that must be working
- few marks on the rear drivers side alloy wheel, but nothing major.
- will need new front brake disks and pads that for some reason (around near me anyway) Peugeot do not stock ????

Trying to me honest as possible, not into screwing people over. so if you see an edit, its because ive added things ive remembered.

Not sure what its worth so just give me and offer ill let you know

will upload some photos of the interior once I've charged my camera batteries, reason I'm selling is due to having a new baby on the way, need to upgrade the car, also, not financially viable to fix this before selling, so make me a offer, doesn't have to be very high, as it needs a bit of TLC, but since I've had it its been one hell of a reliable car.

The guy that bought my exec was expecting a baby with his wife and upgraded to the 406 from a hatchback.

Good luck with the sale!

Getting a bit of a dying art keeping these on the road. Shame. :(

I still find myself looking at other 406's on the road and raising an appreciative smile, especially the estates for some reason :?

i love my 406, i love the look, the drive i love almost everything about it.

But the misses has a little bump that's getting bigger every month, already got 1 at the moment as well. so that will make 2.
got the MOT and the tax to renew in November, baby is due in December. will have to get the brakes sorted out plus this turbo problem i have. timing isn't the best so to speak. due to lack of funds to fix it MOT it and tax it all near the time of the birth.

Not only that, we cant fit 2 buggies in the boot, need a bigger car.

As i said, really don't want this to go to "just anyone" would prefer it to go to someone i know who appreciates her. someone who will look after her and take care of her......

someones got to want a lovely little project car. wouldn't take much to get her back to her former glory. as stated give me a reasonable offer. not really after much tbh, as there is some work that needs doing, but she is fully drivable. cant fault the engine, starts first time every-time, even in snow, she flew through the last 2 MOT's with nothing more than a advisory on a low tread tire.
