Ithink this wouid require some Organisation,
EG, How far is Each member willing to travel to a meet,?
then theres the organisation of where to hold the meet etc some planning is needed here Me thinks,

other than that ithink this thread shouid be split up into equal sections, North /south/ etc,
Maybe then someone couid take the Reighns on organising a meet for each location and organise venues etc 8)

Woah there, hold on, hold on - you're meant to be meeting up for Discopolpugfrog, is he meant to go to two meets? May I remind you he's driving from Poland for this? (well, ok, probably some other stuff too :P )

Yup iknow what you mean,
But what im trying to say its going to be Awkard. Not many people from up north wouid be able to drive down south alot of us from up norf have got tribes of kids etc..

or vice versa,
needs some organisation here me thinks thats all iwas trying to say,

idid try to gather a list of members from up north but that didnt amount to much not many on the list,
ipresume the list of members from the south wouidnt be many either

Let's not talk ourselves out of it - I for one, would be prepared to turn up anywhere within a few hour's drive - which currently covers all points so far on the map, (always assuming I haven't killed the thing off in trying to sort the injectors).
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

On the map it looks like right in the middle of the country is best suited for a meet, between Doggy in North ants and Lozz in Manchester. Is there any motor museums or similar somewhere there?

What about bringing the tribe with? Find a nice town with a motor museum, a nice old country house to look at, something along the lines of Legoland and a huge shoeshop? A museum of cars, handbags and kiddy toys??

what about here?

or something similar.

Edit: or a bit further North

Or looking at the map, how about Puggy's drive, i reckon Stafford would be a good meeting point, Puggy is there anywhere worth visiting down there?

The Heritage Motor Centre looks quite well placed, not sure about Somerset though (I bluddy drove past that a few weeks back but I didn't have time to stop  And that big pile of rocks which I'd never even seen before :( )

There is one in Coventry
It's free to get in

Could use the Park and Ride South (Memorial Park) to meet up at, and then take the bus into town for the motor museum

Gaydon is favourite with the coupe club for meets

I guess if we could get enough cars, they "might" make an area available to us
Either that or ask if the coupe boys are holding one around that time, and we muck in with them ?

Sounds good, and I vote for Gaydon too, always fancied a trip up there. Only problem is I can only make the last weekend in August :(

As for dates Im fairly flexible as i have booked all of august off with clients, its a sporadic month for teaching at the best of times with it being the holiday season so i bit the bullet and decided to take the whole month as my summer holiday, Im liking the look of Gaydon as i have heard good things about the place and i reckon its around 2-3 hours maximum drive for those in the north and the deep south(queue the banjos)

Seeing as Dai is the only one expressing a preference on dates, may i tentatively propose the weekend of the 27th and 28th of August?

If we get enough interest I will happily contact the museum and see if they will arrange group rates and the like for entry prices.

That's not a bad run from Woking, sounds good to me! The only problem is if my wife wants to go away as it's the bank holiday weekend.
Spooky because the 20th August is my birthday!
