Why would I be jealous? It's a wardrobe! And it doesn't even have a portal to Narnia in it. What's the point? :cheesy:

The point is it's hardly heavier than a saloon and very useful - I'm always carting gardening stuff about and it would be impossible to get the whole lot in a saloon. I've always driven estates though, with the odd saloon when I was young and responsibility-free, so I'm probably a little biassed. The last saloon I had was that Senator but the boot in that was HOOOOOOOOOGE!

I'd love a coupe though, I could put up with the nuisance of a boot and work around it (what's left if you remove the back seats btw?) but I'd still need to get a trailer to get the dogs in.

That's what a trailer is for!

You guys do know I'm only poking fun, right :cheesy:

Steve, removing the rear seats would give you a cavernous space for carrying stuff. There's a lot of room in the back.

Incidentally, by simply folding down the rear seats, I was able to put my stainless steel exhaust in - which is more than 6ft long, excluding the backbox which is separate. One end of the pipe was at the very rear of the boot, the other end was only just between the front seats.

This was in addition to the four alloys, the backbox, and a bunch of other stuff I had in my boot at the time.

For putting dogs in the car, just cover the rear bench in a nice thick blanket to stop their claws knackering the leather seats, and let them get in and out via the same doors you do. If they're well-behaved, they should sit there and be good for the length of your journey. Bonus points if you have someone sitting on the rear bench with them to keep them entertained - bored dogs chew car interiors!

I'm under no illusions - the Coupe isn't as practical as an estate, or even a Saloon (because it's a four-seater, not a five-seater). Yes, it would be better if it were a hatchback rather than a saloon-style boot. But it's not a difficult car to live with at all. You can fit a roof rack and towbar, and the boot is as big as it is on the saloon.

Anyway, what were we originally talking about again (before I started throwing stones in glass houses)? Oh yeah - the summer meet that I'm not going to because I don't like driving 9 hours straight :D

I can't imagine these 3 fitting across the back seat, no way would they stay still either! Mind you, last time they needed their rabies shots the vet came to us 8)

How about finding someone to kip over with on your route?

Could potentially stop over in Glasgow with my cousin, reducing the longest leg of the Southbound journey to 5 hours 22 minutes. I'll have to have a think about it.

2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)

Can you not get a car charger for yours then Doggy? I have for mine, although I've still yet to use it.

Edit: On second thoughts, I've got a feeling that the car charger is for my old laptop. Think I bought that for when I was car hunting before I bought the 406 & I had an HP then. Got a Dell now.

I don't know if it would work - this relic doesn't even have a battery! In any case, I wouldn't attempt to download an ecu file on anything other than a stable mains supply as the risk of locking the ecu is just too great.

- See I didn't put you off Wellingborough then. Are you back there next week?

I have a genny you're welcome to borrow, it's in Hoddesdon but you'll need at least two people and an estate ( :P ) to move it though :cheesy:
