Are old toploader VCRs worth anything to a collector?
I hate throwing things away, especially when they still work.

Re: Old VCRs
I think there's three VCR's in my attic
I dunno; I suppose someone, somewhere, likes them - it's the kinda thing you'd see at a car boot sale for £2.00
More worrying for me is what to do with the 80+ video cassettes in the attic all boxed-up. (although no-ones having my 'special' video from the 90's...)

If you're just loathe to throw it out, and don't mind giving it away for free, you could see if any local schools, children's hospitals, hospices, or libraries might be interested.
As long as it's in good working order and doesn't eat tapes, I'm sure someone from one of the above groups would take it off your hands.

Re: Old VCRs
The last time I tried to donate (computer) equipment to a volunteer charity, they had to decline on health and safety grounds
Said they would prefer if I sold it and donated the proceeds.
I have yet to QA it fully, make sure it doesn't chew tapes
