Re: abs fault
Turn your caps lock off.
Your problem is probably going to be caused by damaged reluctor rings.

Re: abs fault
what are reluctor rings please (caps lock off) and can I disengage ABS temporarily?
Re: abs fault
Much better.
Reluctor rings are metal rings that fit on the wheel hubs (rear) or driveshaft outer CV joints (front) which have grooves cut in them. There's a sensor mounted near them which reads the grooves and can tell how fast each wheel is going to detect if one of them has locked up.

Re: abs fault
Hi,
Sorry to re-open this a year on, but I had issue last night, whereby the ABS light came on, and off and on etc. Happened initially just after a rough patch in road. I also had the rear shoes replace a couple hundred miles back, after they broke apart and jammed the rear wheel.
Could these groves of been damaged by the fault? Should they have been replaced when new shoes added and how easy to check for damage?
Cheers
Dave
