Generic one , dont know about 2.2 not been in one so dont know how they
compare but would imagine a re mapped 2.2 to be quicker , perhaps doggy
can answer that if he has been in both ? just know its a lot better than it was
before the re map ...
Don't honestly know how the two cars would compare, but I imagine there would be little to choose between a standard 2.2 and a remapped 110. If so, this is a remarkable achievement as the 2.2 not only has more capacity, but also 16 valves, variable geometry turbo, variable induction / swirl chamber etc. As standard the 2.2 is hampered by the diesel particle filter, (the infamous FAP), but my car is now reconfigured to work without it. As puggy says, there is no mistaking the difference after a remap.

Hi I'am new to the club and would like to ask some Q's about the power outputs of the 2.0 110 hdi engine,
I have had a 2000w 110 hdi for 7 years and have always found it to have good performance and economy, would cruise all day at 95, return 45 mpg, its done 162k now and now looking to change to an 03 plate 110s, but my question is the 03 car and others I have tested do not seem to have the the get up and go the old car, do you think the old car had been chipped/remapped or were the engines in the earlier cars different spec? CAN YOU HELP any info much appreciated
There are some marginal difference between early & late HD1 110's, but these are unlikely to make a noticeable difference. Owners do report big differences from car to car, you may just have a 'good one'. A few guys on here have remapped 110's but they don't seem to be common.
Nowadays it's generally possible to get them remapped very cheaply.
Or you could get a 2.2 HDi......
