speedo mileometer

put new bulbs in to dials display but mileometer still not easily readable , dimmer is working and is set at brightest setting.
anyone got any thoughts why it should be like this , readable at night.

got the same in my d8
the temp display does it as well

but thats in the centre console which is ok. just the mileage is difficult to see for me .
