Hello!!

Post by kemik007 »

Hello All I have finaly stumbled across a forum with 406 info to share our troubled ownership!!

My current cars are a 406 2.1 td glx estate R reg & a 406 1.9 td lx saloon R reg.

both consuming much maintanance time.

my immediate problem is changing the 2.1 radiator I have managed to remove the old rad (eventually) but had to cut the bottom
hose as the release was siezed/corroded has anyone a part No. for a replacement?

Thanks

Steve

Hi there Steve, welcome aboard.

Oops, you might have a problem there, that'll be the one that's rubber on the ends and metal where it goes round the engine, right? Expensivo, if they still do it. Hold on...

1351T3 WTR OUTLET HOSE 88.62 GBP

Looks like they haven't stopped supplying yet but be prepared for a wait :( Alternatively, some have made up a pipe by joining their original to a section with the joint from a top hose sourced in the scrappers.

Thanks for the reply Steve, I have been surfing all afternoon after giving up on the haynes manual, took me ages to do what seemed an 'easy' job
I suppose it goes with owning older cars.

Cheers

Welcome in mate :D
I feel your pain with the bottom rad hose, you can bodge it as Steve says by chopping off the conrad fitting from a top hose at a scrappy & joining it on.
In hindsight I would have wrapped it with denzo tape before I put the jubilee clips on.
