Hi, I have a problem with the bloody engine on my surrender monkey. It is idling erraticly and when driving at low revs it is vibrating and very jumpy to about 2000+ revs as though it is missing.
I have changed the plugs and have tried disconntecting the coil packs one by one to find the culprit with no avail. Could this be down to just a knackered inlet manifold gasket? It started before changing the rear plugs and to be honest the gasket on inspection is pretty much toast.
Mmm, not too sure to be honest but I know the V6 can suffer with oil around the plug wells but I suppose you've encountered that when you changed the plugs?
Not sure if the manifold gasket might can cause too much trouble, I doubt it tbh.
It might pay you to also join and ask the 406 coupe club as they have far more V6's than us

That seems to be a ES9J4 specific problem, and this guy's got the ES9J4S.
My guess would be a sensor issue, possibly the CTS or flywheel sensor, or the VVT solenoid playing up
