SYPHONING FUEL
Hi everyone
Just a quick question is it possible to syphon fuel from a 406 hdi 110 easily? My 406 will be laid up for a while. Thinking that having less fuel in the tank will help when i do the roll bar bushes tommorow if i have to drop the tank. Have a fair bit of fuel in the 406 and was thinking of siphoning most of it off to use in my other car 106 diesel.
I've got one of those cheap syphons you can buy with a hand pump ,the bit of tube that goes into the fuel tank is only about 400mm long so i'm thinking i might have to add a bit of extra pipe to it. Anyone done this before?
Thanks

Re: SYPHONING FUEL
Or use the lift pump to empty the tank by sticking 12 volts across it (no I don't know which terminal's which
)

Re: SYPHONING FUEL
Only remove the fuel pump if it is knackered because it is such a pig to refit you will soon be wondering why you where worrying about the fuel in the tank in the firsrt place!! Been there done that.

Re: SYPHONING FUEL
As far as I know there's an anti-syphoning flap thing at the bottom of the filler neck to prevent a hose being pushed down into the tank.
My neighbours 206 diesel van was written off with a full tank and we could not get a tube down into the fuel.
