what is it with these online gamers, i have cousins that do nothing but online gaming and to talk to them you know it, its as if they are constantly hung over/zombified/brain dead/ just not fully there. But they have the touch of death on a computer, once they download that s##t for their games and leave, about 2 days later the computers go mad.
As for the issue in hand it just applies to the volume, i dont seem to set anything else differently and cant notice any ocd issues, i like the inside of my car clean, no rattles or faults.

Re: Strange Numerical Thing
I have a similar compulsion with volumes, it used to be every 5 or 10, but I then started to allow 12 or 18, but now I just do even numbers, usually between 10 and 20 on my Kenwood headunit. Sad I know, but then I also play with the numbers and letters of most car number plates to make equations, i.e. R699 BHP, so R is 18 (as it's the 18th letter of the alphabet) which would be 9 divided by root 9, and add the 6, and then with the letters it could be quite a few permutations, from B plus P, through to B times H, plus P divided by H.
Give me pretty much any number plate and I'll have a play around. How sad am I?

I think you'll find most people are like that. I drive my parents nuts when ever I get a new car as my ears, despite being half deaf, can pick up the smallest of sounds that are out of place.406executiveHDI wrote:As for the issue in hand it just applies to the volume, i dont seem to set anything else differently and cant notice any ocd issues, i like the inside of my car clean, no rattles or faults.
As a result, I spend more time and money trying to track down common noises only to be defeated and end up buying a new car

Of course, silly me, got rid of the 406 for a Mondeo, which as many will know, resulted in a lemony taste in my mouth

Re: Strange Numerical Thing
I honestly never bothered to locate the squeaks and rattles in my 406 as, mostly, I'd get a 'new' one every other day so I'd have been chasing my tail mostly
The Volvo gets an odd rattle sometimes like a 'chinging' noise but I'm not going to try and find it - it really doesn't bother me for some reason
I think it's quite an achievement to make a car with thousands of parts, seats, panels and seals and for it to be 'quiet' as it goes. I bet even if you paid £100K for a Bentley it'd still make some kind of noise at some point even if it was just the leather seats.
*goes out to buy a £100K Bentley just to see*
*wishes that was true*
*considers doing the Lotto again*

Re: Strange Numerical Thing
That's probably why it annoys me. I want a car that is quiet as a mouse when driving.
The 406, from the day I bought it had this annoying ticking that went off every minute or so. I recall asking what it was when I first joined the Forum and it appears the re-circ flap is stuck or something.
We never did get it fixed... I didn't fancy taking the whole dash out

Re: Strange Numerical Thing
Leather Seats creaking i think is an acceptable noise, but i dont like the sound of the dash rattling, which my car doesnt really do but i was in a passat and it did which was irritating because its a rattly german car, even my panda was free of rattles, and the 20 year old merc was as solid as a drum
