Hi Guys, heres a few pics-

Will be keeping it standard as I'm not keen on modifying the look of cars and I'm pretty sure Pininfarina got it pretty much spot on ;)
Thanks for the warm welcome

That is gorgeous and the bodywork looks in perfect condition. Damn, I'm jealous!
Are my eyes deceiving me, or is that tan leather on the interior?

Re: 406 coupe safety
Is that a VERY dark green or is it black? I can't decide but got a hint of green going on (unless my monitor's playing up again
).
Looks like a V6'er (notices Brembo's, I think).

Don't do that!daviewonder wrote:Will be keeping it standard as I'm not keen on modifying the look of cars and I'm pretty sure Pininfarina got it pretty much spot on ;)
Go to a Peugeot or Citroen dealer and order part number 6438V8 (£6). They're Citroen mist type windscreen washer jets. VERY worthwhile upgrade without spoiling the car's looks, as are a pair of Valeo flat retro-fit wiper blades (although you may need to recondition or replace your wiper arms if yours are too stiff)
Another modification which is essential for V6 owners (providing your brakes and exhaust are correct and you've got an ES9J4 (192bhp V6) engine) Take the two pipes off the back of the air filter box, disconnect the IAT sensor near the smaller pipe, and lift the box out. Look inside where the big pipe went and pull out the metal band inside. This has been known to slip out of its own accord and jam the throttle body wide open

Enjoy

Re: 406 coupe safety
Thanks Guys
Its a very dark green V6 with tan leather interior (tan leather seems to have the Marmite effect on people)
Those washer jets sound like a good idea, will look into getting them and the wipers. I have seen a few coupes with a small spoiler that sits directly on the boot, was this an optional extra from peugeot? Also I have seen a chrome front grille on a later model is this genuine?
Thanks for the heads up on the inlet/throttle body thing, I will have a look at it when I have some daylight.
Cheers, Dave

Re: 406 coupe safety
ive seen a few coupes with a sort of bigger grille like the 407 coupe i think it is genuine peugeot stuff but im not 100% sure, another thing you could do to the inside of the coupe is paint the dash silver, in the right places of course it makes a big difference to the inside brightens it up very well, but even in standard form you have a v6, is listening to it addictive yet?

Re: 406 coupe safety
I very nearly got rid of the coupe when we were having a baby. Our baby is nearly 2 now and I can't say the coupe has caused a problem at all. In many ways, I think a 2/3 door car is easier for getting babies in and out the back (when they start getting fron facing) because you can 'sit' on the back of the passenger seat while belting them up.
If it helps, our first travel system was a Graco Mosaic, which folds down pretty small and fits in the opening bit of the coupe nboot perfectly , and leaves teh rest of the boot empty.
If I'd sold it 2 years ago, that would have been one massive regret.

Re: 406 coupe safety
Yay! I got the 'Dark Green' right
You wanna get some new number plates made with the later font (yr 2001 +) that'll make it look a lot better.

In most cases, yeah it's a nice original OEM jobbie. About £100 I think...daviewonder wrote:Those washer jets sound like a good idea, will look into getting them and the wipers. I have seen a few coupes with a small spoiler that sits directly on the boot, was this an optional extra from peugeot?
2003 and on models I think. Not 100% sure on the date, but it's "later" models406executiveHDI wrote:ive seen a few coupes with a sort of bigger grille like the 407 coupe i think it is genuine peugeot stuff but im not 100% sure,
The coupé dash is already silverish, it's just the centre console they decided not to do until 2003 I thinkanother thing you could do to the inside of the coupe is paint the dash silver, in the right places of course it makes a big difference to the inside brightens it up very well
