Whats A Chamfer?

Want to stop my breaks squeeling and remember someone saying to cut a 'chamfer' in them...

What is a chamfer

Instead of a 90 deg bend on the pads - take the edge off them at say 45 degs

This made it worse Infact due to this, last night I was driving through a lane, saw a rabbit so slowed down, my breaks squeeled and it run under my front wheel.

Will have to clean up my calipers and pads and put some fresh coper grease down I think

You see, like you, I'm a bit of a car cleaning nut (not as good at it as you mind) and I am regularly to be found spraying my wheels with Bilberry's best and giving them a jolly good blast with the pressure washer............however this cleans up the brakes too and I get a squeal! in fact I bet my pads must be stuck fast to the calipers.

Yehh 1:10 bilberry, on the wheels, in and over the calipers and arches, left for 5 then blasted off with the PW Maybe your onto something here! I'l get the pads out and put a little copper grease on them. How much is needed?

You smear a thin-ish coat of CG over the contact area only on the rear face of the pad, you'll see the area when you get the pad out.

I hope I don't need to tell you not to get any on the friction surface?

I'm not that stupid So a thin layer on the back of the pad? Could I put a tiony amoutn behind the shims?

What size are the T5's discs?

They're 300mm. I think they should be bigger with 4-pot calipers.
