Au Revior - My Concorde moment is over
After 4 and a half years of ownership, I've bitten the bullet and moved on to a 2007 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Titanium X.
It's been an eventful time, and many a time have I felt like throwing my boot at the car, with its niggly common faults (of which it's had every one) but it's behaved itself for a long time now, which made this decision a very difficult one.
But the Mondeo's the right price, right car, the p/x price is same as a private sale, and I haven't got to get it serviced at the end of the month, nor tax it. So it's a decision done with the head, not the heart.
Saturday will be a strange day, I should be fully excited, but I can't stop thinking about seeing the coupe for the last time. Sounds a bit soppy I know, but it's the car I've always wanted. It's my concorde moment.
Someone is going to get a cracking buy with my coupe. Apart from a £30 drop link, it's absoluitely mint in every way.

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

So sorry to hear you were forced to get a Mondeo.
I'd not wish such a dull, lifeless, car on my worst enemies.

Which model Mondeo is it on a 07 is it the new model? My bro has a 58 plate Mondy Titanium with the 1.8 TDCi lump in, its not particularly quick but its massive inside. I think its a good car feels really solid.

Re: Au Revior - My Concorde moment is over
it's a 2007 new shape Titanium X, with the 2.0 140bhp TDCi engine. Getting it next week. Still gutted about letting go of the 406, but the excitement for teh Mondeo is starting to build up and take over!
Talking of size, my wife was impressed with the space in the back, and I couldn't believe the size of the boot. HUGE

Re: Au Revior - My Concorde moment is over
the new mondeo is a superb car, much better than vw passat, and the 3 series the new mondeo really does look great, and the inside of it is a lovely place to be its solid but also has plenty of shiny bits to make it pleasent and give a nice environment. But you will miss your 406, ive just accepted with mine that its not a car for selling on, im just going to keep it even when it gets old and delapadated it will just spend its days tucked up in a shed.

Well I've just said my goodbyes to the coupe, a sad day indeed (I still think I should have bought it
)! Next time I see Mr Davies he'll be Mondeo Man

See you in about 3 weeks mate ;)
I went for the 2003 MK3 Facelift and I've had nothing but problems!
Lets hope they have fixed all the problems I have had in the newer models lol
