Re: a good car ruined by a boy racer
Do you mean some sort of charity appeal, what if it actually is the woman who is selling the car?
I wouldnt touch a modified car like that with a barge pole, its bad enough having to fix any manafacturing flaws that peugeot may have made, buy something like this and thats all your going to end up doing, probably fixing falling off bodykits, really dodgy electrics, and if they did any mechanical things youve got fun coming up. The other thing is, a modifed car is someone elses work, doesnt most people prefer to do it themselves to their own tastes, whats the point in buying someone elses work.

Did you see that Torpedo thing nestling in the first aid box on the rear parcel?
I'm guessing that's some kind of capacitor or something? and quite weighty? perfect for smashing your skull in in an impact where it leaves it's hidey-hole and carries on at 50mph

Yes, a charity appeal, that's what I mean, I'm just a bit crap at English these days406executiveHDI wrote:Do you mean some sort of charity appeal, what if it actually is the woman who is selling the car?

Agreed, also it'll have been thrashed badly and the bodykit probably hides accident damage too.I wouldnt touch a modified car like that with a barge pole, its bad enough having to fix any manafacturing flaws that peugeot may have made, buy something like this and thats all your going to end up doing, probably fixing falling off bodykits, really dodgy electrics, and if they did any mechanical things youve got fun coming up. the boot doesnt look like my dog could fit in, or even a tv, or anything that a boot is used for. I watched pimp my ride a few times and wonder does them people rip that stuff out of their boots to get some useable space, because realistically how often are you going to stand and watch a tv screen in the bootlid.

The only redeeming feature of the blue one is that I like the look of the doors de-stripped. Gives it a cleaner look, almost Alfa 156-like. The rest of the car is OTT and an eyesore, but if someone could do that with the doors and the rest of the car more subtly it would make an interesting euro-look.
There is a fella on the forum debadged his boot, maybe he could try it?

It's either the world's most misplaced NOS bottle, or the world's smallest fire extinguisher.

Re: a good car ruined by a boy racer
to overtake a corsa all you have to do is push the trottle by about 1mm and youll end up zooming past it, either that or it will fall to pieces. I drove a 1.4 16v corsa once and regard it as the worst car in the whole world still havent drove anything as terrible, vauxhall must have went to extrodinary measures to make every single control feel very cheap and loosely put together.

As the past owner of a Opel Manta with the group B 400 bodykit, 400 bonnet, and rear spoiler, revolution wheels, and an Astra 16v converted to rear wheel drive on twin 48 webbers, I'm finding it difficult to comment

is the incentive , no doubt hoping any prospective buyer has a pervy streak in them
and will bid in the hope of seeing said girlie in the flesh so to speak .
Real perverts are wise to this kind of thing and dont rise to the bait

Classic cars were so much easier to modify tastefully especially old fords, with a capri all you had to do was put the v6 add a few spot lights, a red line, electric aeriel and jobs a goodun

Not at all - the above smacks of good taste, (mine had a Carlton 2.2 short engine, stage 3 head, twin 48's wiv the servo / master cylinder on the wrong side etc. etc.). but looked almost std.plod wrote:As the past owner of a Opel Manta with the group B 400 bodykit, 400 bonnet, and rear spoiler, revolution wheels, and an Astra 16v converted to rear wheel drive on twin 48 webbers, I'm finding it difficult to comment![]()

Never heard of anyone converting an Astra into a proper car before.
