MAF probs

Post by 406BE »

i have recently been recieving the occasional "polution fault" message and the car seems to go into limp mode ( ie: less power , less acceleration)
now i have it planned in for a large service next week , but i disconected the MAF and the car is running like a dream now , anyone know what could be wrong?

does disconnecting the MAF have any bad sides ?

you sure you're running fine with MAF disconnected? Is it the O2 sensor on the exhaust you meant by any chance? Better to hook the car up with a diagnose tool (PPS2000) and do a global test. Replace the MAF if found faulty. However, cleaning the sensor given some positive results but never guaranteed.
