As if thats enough stuff on tv to dilute the good stuff like grand designs and top gear now itv has both the x factor and 'im someone who was mildly famous once and i need to get more famous quicly get me out of here' you cant blame elvis distroying a tv when he did not like what he seen.

Does make you wonder though if there is anyone out there that gives one?

Most flag-waving supporters are dead now aren't they? Silver Jubilee, trestle tables in the street, and a special silver spoon given out at school?

In St Andrews, those of a "better class" (ie. their ancestors had money) used to drive around in VW Polos.
Seemed to be the car of choice for the Eton classes. Non ostentatious yet German.

a saxo or 106 would be a better choice and cheaper, and way better to drive

There was a Pug dealer in St Andrews, Barnetts. Their service staff were helpful in dealing with a couple of niggles on my ZX.

The main dealer pretended to be your pal when you walked in the door, but when I worked in the petrol station found him to be a grumpy sod.

They also owned a VW franchise next door that did a healthy trade in Polos.

I guess the toffs are put of by the number of badly modified Saxos and 106s and stick with their VWs. Sure the Royals and that are all German anyway.

As I say to the wife when she complains about my sloppy English - there's only one person who speaks the English you're trying to teach and she's German!

A couple of brainless toffs, not worth worrying about.

They'd better make it a Friday AND a national holiday, then I'll be happy for them

Those in power have a very cynical view of the general public.

Having brainwashed them and dumbed them down with ITVs output and an obsession with fake celebrity, once they start getting agitated at having no jobs and no money because Those in power's pals in the banks made (and are still making) a clean fortune, they devise a way of diverting the public's attention:

Royal Wedding! Celebrities! Look at the shiny things, peasants! Never mind that your house is repossessed and you are sitting on the dole because your heavy manufacturing job is gone forver and the only jobs available in the UK are shelf stacking in Tescos (which also has it's fingers in the pie with Those in power - ever noticed how planning applications for large Tesco stores are no longer opposed, even when beside historic town centres....). Never mind all that - Shiny Celebrity Wedding! Celebrate peasants!

It'd be nice if someone organised a national "we don't give a flying fImageck" protest on the same day.

The authorities would clamp down on it like a ton of bricks. No-one messes with the shiny important peoples wedding! Millions will be spent on security because according to the authorities it is likely to "attract all sorts of nutters".

Nice use of a universal classificiation icon btw :D
