low miles and all, that car will be a good classic in a few years if you keep it in the condition its in now. What size of engine did it get with the slushy
the 106 kept the peugeot design going well, back in the time when peugeots didnt have big eyes and open mouths there was the 106, 306 and 406 you could instantly tell they were from the same time, then the 607 come along
It's got the 1.4 engine so its got some guts, I believe its tuned a little higher than the manual to make up for the slushbox. Yeah its pretty much perfect, not many cars I've ever said that about. Lol @ the 607. I actually really like the look of the 607, I see it as a replacement for my 406 in a couple of years time. I saw one on pistonheads a few weeks back with some nice 206 gti180 rims painted in that anthracite colour. It looked deadly
Its a clinker of a wee car then as they say round here.
607 looking deadly-Gulp, i thought it just looks like a stretched mk1 citroen C5, obviously you wouldnt get it with the 110 hdi 13.9 seconds to 60 is a bit slow. I always thought the 406 was a bit more elegant looking, the 605 was a nice looking beast of a car i wouldnt mind a later model sve 24 valve v6 one.
The 406 is definately a better looking car than the 607, and the 406 (D9) is better looking than most modern saloons I would say. I do think the 607 suits its look simply because of what it is. A big lazy french luxury car! Yeah the 605 was a great car, i saw one a few weeks back. Its a rare item on the roads these days.
Indeed its rare, ive never seen a sve 24v v6 not even for sale and it was the top of the line model.
another mad big lazy french car there is the renault vel statis, or an avantime.
Any 406 owner knows the handle between the front seats doesnt stop the car, this is the handbrake:
only joking ive discovered if its not used for handbrake turns it does its job very well
The handbrake on my saloon always seemed to be pretty good - but then, it just had drum brakes on the rear wheels.
The Coupe, however... When she goes in for her cambelt change, I'll ask them to sort out the handbrake, as it's pretty crap.

the worst handbrake ever seen was one on an old 80s mid engined nissan vanette van you pulled a lever in the dash, one day i pulled it and it came straight out of the dash. But it was a cool looking old van, loud as hell but something quite fascinating about its lack of rear end grip meant it was a death trap when not loaded.

Am doing so. Incidentally, what's the best gear to leave it parked in, for this purpose?
