Hi there all, new here hope you can help.
I have a 2.0HDi engine code RHZ. She starts and runs fine but at around 2000 rpm she hesitates then blows a puff of black smoke, as soon as she smokes she kicks on and goes like she should. Ive cleaned the EGR and the pipe and inlet bend which was full of gunk. There is no misfire and no smoke otherwise, Ive also had the injectors checked by a specialist and he says theyre ok. The engine light is on by the way, it does go off sometimes but she still runs the same. There seems to be a little oil coming from the filler cap but I assume thats just the rubber seal as there seems to be no backpressure and she doesnt smoke through the cam box. Has anyone any ideas they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

hi, i would go and get the codes read and see what it comes up with before trying to sort it, a code read should pin point the fault.

Re: 2.0 HDi smoke
I had oil getting put through my turbo when I overfilled, is your oil level below the max mark?

i agree , if the engine light is on that will tell you what the problem is, it may or may not relate to the smoke problem but the light is on for something, craigtd wrote:hi, i would go and get the codes read and see what it comes up with before trying to sort it, a code read should pin point the fault.
go and get the codes and see what it comes up with,
