Aux Belt

noticed my aux belt has a groove on it on the back as you look were it goes around the alternator, i only had it changed 3 months ago,

the grove seems to run all round the belt , is this normal i didnt take notice of my old one,

its on the back - smooth side of the belt

It should be smooth on the back, sounds as though something has carved a gouge in it unless I'm mistaken!
It's a real piece of p1ss to change, definitely a diy job.

i thought it should be smooth, i will take it back to the garage 2moro and see what they say, might be under warranty yet if its the belt at fault.

went back to the garage today, he said it isnt right, its wearing wrong with the groove,

what could cause this, the smooth side of the belt has a groove in it and its now not smooth anymore its rough

i can only see the 1 pulley that the belt goes round touching the smooth side, could that pulley be on its way out ?

i have to go back monday and he will look closer into it he was busy today,,,
