'One map fits all' shouldn't matter to a degree, if the map was designed for a standard car then it should be very very close, one you start adding stainless exhaust, decats, induction then you could benefit from a fully customised remap, a guy on the Coupe forum has the 180 map on but is adding the exhaust and is going to decat etc, once he has done he is going to stump up £300+ to get a custom map tailored.steve_earwig wrote: I seem to recall one of the things we usually say when trashing power commander chip thingies, is that a remap is tailored to the individual car, but now we seem to have "one remap fits all", does it matter? Should it matter?
I think CJ's got the same mounts I have - a standard 2.2' s 236 lb/ft so I wouldn't have thought it a problem.Welly wrote:To be honest you'd probably need uprated engine mounts when you re-map a diesel as the torque is very high. Under load it is likely to be over-stretching the mounts and leading to vibration as they can't cope.
That's my theory too.steve_earwig wrote:Perhaps a modicum of control when pressing the loud pedal (they have more than 2 positions...)
Oh! does that mean I have to drive as fast as granny?puggy wrote:Cj mine has passed 3/4 mot's with a remap and no problems at all , normal
driving hardly any smoke but yes when i floor it quite a bit but gets less after
a while so could be a combination of granny driving and the remap
Luckily, no. You don't have the pesky FAP component on your car, so you can rest peacefully406executiveHDI wrote:can i defap my 406 hdi110
