Perfectly legal to use 2499 litres a year, once you use 2500+ you must register and pay the fuel duty to HMRC.Gary406 wrote:is it not illegal to do this ?

Yep precisely, keep a record of what you use tho so they can see for themselves. A simple Excel document, of how much you've put in each time.Gary406 wrote:guess its unlimited then

I believe macros is for business' only and you need to apply for a card, showing proof your a business. My girlfriends family has got a macros card cos her dad worked there when he was young so im in luck haGary406 wrote:any1 any idea how much it is to join costco ?

Costco and Bookers are the same as Macro, supposed to be a business. But think Costco and Bookers you can apply for a day card instead.
Best way is a fake letter head with business name and your home address. Dont think they bother checking, as they want your custom.

If its unused oil, then mint, get it banged in. If its used oil, meaning its been used to cook chips and sh!t in, then it needs to be properly filtered.Gary406 wrote:his mate owns a few kebab shops and he can put me in touch with veg oil supplier, guarantee'd cheaper than costco![]()

If its used oil, let it settle for a week or 2 in a garage.
Will prob end up looking like this:-

The top is nice oil, bottom is full of fat. Filter the top oil thru a 100 micron filter, then 50 micron filter, then 20 micron, then 10 micron filter then a final 1 micron filter, then put it in the car. Good oil should be a nice golden colour with no cloudy bits at all. You can use sock filters to start with, then build a proper system as you get used to it.
Put all the crap oil together in 1 cubee, most will become good eventually just take time to settle.
My 1st filtering system:-

The smell aint too bad, just dont get it all over yourself as you'll stink like a chippy.
Your cars exhaust will also smell like a chippy with either used or unused oil.
Its a bit messy using sock filters and quite likely to get some on yourself. But its worth it for the fuel saving.
You can later on when you get a regular supply of used veg oil build a proper well built system.
