It's only as good as whoever programmed the words to look for. I used to hang out on a forum where, argh, forgot his name... oh yes, the name Jamie "that f*cking twat off the telly" Oliver was censored to Fat Tongue. It needs a few more words putting in obviously, words like Ford and Renault definitely shouldn't appear on here.

ford and renault are filthy words to even mutter on this site, especially renault peugeots enemy, and maker of cars that make buying french seem unattractive. bar a few good models from the past like the 25, and the 5 gordini.

well ford for a while in the early and mid 90s made shite non stop with such great examples as the escort, the mondeo, the fiesta and the puma, back in the 90s all these fords were dreadfully unpleasent. As for renault they seem to really have the edge over peugeot in the electrical f*ck ups department, but also for plasticky interiors, floppy gearchanges, and the worst steering i have ever felt while driving, as if it was using playdough rather than power steering fluid but still precisely 0% feedback.

Neither of the Mk.1 Clios I have owned had power steering, or anything remotely complex in the electricals dept. The only time one of them broke down was when the cable to the starter motor had come loose.

That said, I gather some of the other forum members have nothing good to say about the more modern Renaults in terms of reliability. Wasn't it mjb who had a Megane?

Yes the mk1 clio did have a bit more of the french hatch appeal, it was light basic and handled well like the 205, 106, saxo etc. But my mk2 ruined it all, badly designed seats stupid controls, i had a raft of immobilizer problems that could only be sorted by the dealer, and never actually lasted for a while, and now my mums driving it, the bastiding things overheating in this cold weather what a f*cked up car it was, im thinking of getting her a panda 1.4 sometime soon.

if any1 sends cash for a car they have never seen before its their own fault if you ask me,

i would never send a silly amount of money without even seeing the vehicle in person 1st, then after seeing it i will only part with my cash once i have seen the paperwork ,

the cost of shipping that car will probably be more than the cost she wants for the 407 :?

The 407 in executive spec is an undeniably nice car you can see how temting £1500 is for it
it seems the real deal is a bit more expensive, but heres one with the fantastic hdi v6 for less than 4k, the grille needs ripped out and replaced with the standard one as soon as possible but its still a lot of the car for the money:

That's not an HDi V6, it's a petrol V6. That's why it's so cheap.

Keep an eye out for a 607 in Executive trim - pure bloody luxury, and you can get them with the 2.7 litre HDi V6.

As rare as hen's teeth though, I reckon, there's not many out there, but would be a nice car if you could find one. I tailed one for a few miles today on the way back to Aberdeen, nice looking motor in black.

nope the 607 doesnt do anything for me, i just find the front terrible, i prefer the look of the 406 or 407. A big old XM would be the car to buy try and track down a v6 one of them, might be petrol but a good v6 engine.
