does any1 know how to change the bulb in the boot under the shelf ?

the one that comes on when the boot is opened

Are you sure it's the bulb? The mercury switch is notorious for failing, you can sometime get it working by shaking the bootlid.

no my bulb hasnt gone, i just need to know how to change it so i can connect a wire to the neg side of it for my new alarm system im fitting

is it a parcel shelf out job or can it pop off from underneith

i wanted to find out before i attempt (i have an abit of braking things if i dont know how its properly done)
i tend to just ram a screwdrived in and snap it out :oops:

I've never changed one to be honest! I assume you just lever the lense out to get access.

yup the lens pops out, watch the metal frame of the actual light doesnt hit the sides of the metal its in or a spark occurs and at the worst you will become mildly suprised. Then pull it out a bit further and you will have plenty of wire to add stuff onto. But for neatness, if you want to thread a wire to it its handy having the parcel shelf out, but its possible to thread it with the shelf in place. The light comes out very easy.

you might need to uprate the fuse, as i had to do when i added led lights to the circuit.

can u remember which is neg ? and plus ?

fuse should be ok its only to wire a trigger wire to for the alarm

i have an idea

i have sum LED lights wired upto a wire, now i know LEDs will only work with the neg and plus wired correctly

you should have a multimeter, i wouldnt do anything electrical to my car without one of them, then you will know what is +ve and what is -ve

i`m trying out LED strip lights cos its too dull anyway , going to fit 1 strip each side , I`ll put up pics and info once its done .

they are a good idea, the boots way too dark.
