does any1 know if the door switches are + or - feed ??

i'm hopeing they are neg as my new alarm system requires a neg feed from the door switch

the switch is on the pillar near the hinge isnt it ?

you can see it wen the door is open its a black pin the sticks out :?

My D9 doesn't have them, I couldn't remember on the D8 though so you're probably right. How many wires do they have? They're usually earthed through the switch body but if they have two wires then it could be either.

ok, i will get the multi meter out 2moro and see what happens wen the switch is closed and opened,

theres instructions to the alarm tells me what to put the multimeter set too,

will report back 2moro ..

You're both right. There's the ones near the hinges (at least on the D8) which are used (on the D8) for the courtesy lights. There's also microswitches in the locks which are used for central locking, alarm, and the dashboard warning light (if fitted).

ye when i went to the scrap yard 1st D9 i looked in didnt have the switch i needed ,,,

and after all that messing about with switches ,

my alarm wire simply connected to the interior courtesy light :lol: wire number 3 (switch neg)

in a D8 that is

with a switch it doesnt matter what way the wires go round, it will still switch them. Its probably swithcing a positive feed.
