Mines been the worst it has ever been over the last 5 years according to the computer..........the cold always knocks the m.p.g. way down and it does'nt get much colder than of late.
In the summer i travelled over 600 miles from home into France and thought i'd have a look at the average.......65 m.p.g. !!!!! Mainly motorway and not exceeding 70mph apart from a few blasts but still amazing for an estate loaded up......... i always laugh when i see road tests on some of these new small cars stating the m.p.g. and how fantasic it is.

Re: mpg hdi
I think 45mpg is the best I ever got out of mine & that was on the run down to Paris at a steady 60-80.

I can easily get that on a long run in my V6waue1978 wrote:I think 45mpg is the best I ever got out of mine & that was on the run down to Paris at a steady 60-80.

Mind you, I'm averaging around 17-19mpg for the daily commute...

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
Re: mpg hdi
Mine sounds exceptional in comparison mate........in warm weather on mixed journeys i regularly get in the high 50's and motorway slighty over 60m.p.g.waue1978 wrote:I think 45mpg is the best I ever got out of mine & that was on the run down to Paris at a steady 60-80.
I know ive seen reference to not believing what you see on the obc but ive found mine to be quite close........tempting fate now bulling mine up,usually results in a problem

The only thing i can say was a problem in 5 years ive owned it was a broken front spring parked over night 400 miles from home.
That is one problem i think Peugeot and other manufacturers slipped up with making suspension that a broken spring causes a collapse.......the only saving is most seem to happen when parked.

during the summer i got 700 miles at sometimes a tad more from the tank, the worst i got there during the hard winter was 440 miles. Now i seem to be on 614 miles with a bit left in the tank.

Re: mpg hdi
I was getting just a tad under 50 mpg out of my 110 in the warmer weather but thats dropped 2-3 mpg now it's colder, considering the mid 20's i get from my 3ltr petrol BMW i think the Peugeot is brilliant on fuel!

1987 BMW 535i I had a few years ago - computer showed an average of 11.9mpg over a week in the summer. Was good fun though...FarmerPug wrote:20mpg in my old clio, nothing can ever be as bad as that.
Next worst was my 3.0TD Hilux Surf. Used to get 15mpg around town. Best anybody got was 27mpg & that was my mother!

Re: mpg hdi
i could understand low mpgs from a hilux, but 15 mpg we only get that if its really pulling something very heavy. The best was 35mpg.

Re: mpg hdi
Was a Japanese import with an auto box. Gearbox saps it straight away anyway, but Jap models are also set up differently. Not too sure about diesels, but I know import Imprezas, Lancers etc need to run 100 octane fuel.

Re: mpg hdi
jap imports arent a good job at all, the parts are all slightly different enough for it to make them arrive slowly, and dealers dont really want to know. Thats one specific thing my uncle wanted from the hilux was a manual which are strangley less common in the 2010 hilux than the autos.
