Re: Blast At Moscow Airport
The worlds a dangerous place, there is bad people everywhere.
Re: Blast At Moscow Airport
we were facing the same situation about merely two years back. You leave home to work in the morning without having any hope to return home safely. Bus bombs, car bombs and what not went on frequently killing masses at every blast, I know the value of peace what we're enjoying at present.
Feck human rights of those freedom fighters or guerrillas or terrorists or whoever, eradicate 'em all from the surface of earth.

Re: Blast At Moscow Airport
I think the press coverage of this is wrong, the nutters behind this atrocity thought it was a good idea to murder foreigners to draw the world's attention to themselves and sadly, thanks to the stupid press, they have succeeded. It would be better if the news just said it was "a bunch of sociopaths from somewhere inside Russia" - world reaction should be the complete opposite of what they want. I hope Putin's reaction will involve tanks.

very well said Steve, but after eradicating terrorism Sri Lankan state is being accused for violating human rights, ironically. If yer took a gun then yer should be answered by a gun shot.. murderers, that's what I believe. It's high time they should be treated the same way they treat other humans.steve_earwig wrote:Human rights? I've always said, if you violate human rights, then you shouldn't be allowed human rights
Takes the P I double when murderers/rapists/ preachers of hate etc claim this or that can't be done to them as it violates their human rights
HELLO! shame they didn't think about that before violating someone else's rights

Re: Blast At Moscow Airport
Same with prisoners and voting - thanks, EU, now people who murder/steal/rape/molest have the right to vote in the UK. And I never thought I'd say this, but well done Tories for standing up to the EU - why the hell should they have the right to vote?
Why am I surprised anyway - prisoners in the UK seem to get better accommodation and amenities than the elderly, the mentally infirm, and the poor. Playstations, TV, pool tables, gym membership, shelter, beds, hot running water, no energy bills to pay, free food, and an on-site security firm with a lot of staff...
America had the right idea with prisoners doing hard labour (quarry work) - also, all the office furniture used in US government offices, plus all the car registration plates, are (or used to be, anyway) made by prisoners.
Human rights? Tell that to the families of their victims.

Re: Blast At Moscow Airport
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks this is a very handy occurrence for Western governments (especially the US) who are now under increasing pressure from the public to tone down their disgusting airport "security" practices... This half-arsed little bombing should be just enough to quieten down those pesky people who want their civil rights...
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: Blast At Moscow Airport
I in no way condone the atrocities committed in the name of freedom by people/political organisations but the one phrase that always comes to mind when i see something like this(and all acts of "terror") is the old saying that
"one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter"
I haven't read the reports at the moment and in all honestly probably wont yet as contemporary new reports are inevitable slanted and reactionary, remember international news is all about the circulation numbers and can sometimes be overly commercialized and biased. I am still fully aware though that it doesn't change the fact that many people have died at the hands of others with who which they had no direct conflict and for this i feel genuine sympathy for the victims families.
Am i becoming too pragmatic in my old age?
it worries me that i seem to have a reasoned response to these things now, its a sad indictment on the modern world that these things are considered everyday events now, do we look back on the past with rose tinted spectacles though? i grew up through the 70's and 80's, the times of the "troubles" with the IRA, i was within earshot of the "Manchester Bombing" in '96 and please remember some of the individuals involved in the planning and execution of that event are now active and "respectable" members of the NI government, as i said one mans terrorist...........................................
A rueful and reflective ....

Please dont think i am condoning, agreeing or being complicit, with the ideology of this type of action, all im doing is giving a different point of view.
