Re: doing 41 mph all the time???
ok im thinking cut the pins off. solder the 4 wires together and use heat shrink to seal them.
just saw edd china do it on wheeler dealers.
found some heatshrink on ebay thats heat resistant to 110C
so that should do the trick

You'll get a good connection and it'll be enviromentally sealed, probably one of the better options.
It may only be 12V but it's the amphere that kills you!

I twisted mine together and used a load of insulating tape for a quick fix till I find a more permanant solution
I would prefer the solder and heat shrink tbh

Re: doing 41 mph all the time???
have you tested the insulation tape against the heat ?
i had my blower on today for 5 minutes. touched the connectors and they were very very hot.
i dont know what insulation tape can withstand so be carefull ..
ive just ordered sum of this ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT
one of those sizes will do the job. and at 3 quid odd its a cheap solution

Looks a good buy mate, as tbh i'm not happy at all with the insulating tape and paranoid so ive old got the blowers on in short bursts
So basically as long as you've got the wires matched up correctly you don't need that plastic connector at all?
post a pic when you've done yours if you don't mind

Carefull with that heatshrink. When you shrink it down, if it starts to go shinney (for want of a better discription) you have the heat to hot. In that case it gives off cynide gas, so hold you're breath and take the heat away and allow it to cool. But to be fair ,it doe's have to be really hot for that and is always worth using.

Re: doing 41 mph all the time???
thanks for that info mate i didnt know that..
i have got some 30amp connector blocks that i will try 1st.
i have 24 in 2 strips of 12.
so if any1 needs 2 i can cut 2 off. they are heavy duty type
and as long as the wires are tight in it , it wont melt because its not shorting or arking.
so before soldering them together i will try this option
if any1 requires 2 of these for free of charge pm me your address and i will send you 2

Re: doing 41 mph all the time???
From this (this is not my picture but is was the same all burnt

so i crushed the white block off with pliers and ended up with this . the clips were shot and are not making good contact here

to this. a 30 amp connector block . it is a solid plastic type . i wanted porcelain block because they dont get hot.
i will let you know in a few days if the connector starts to melt,
altho it shouldnt do because wires are solid tight in the block so it should not short or ark.
time will tell
its certainly connected better than it was

ye seems ok after 2 hours being on its only got warm
i would have prefered a porcelain block but there about £5 per double.
were the plastic type were 99p for 12
