Yeh, most of them got done under warrenty though They fixed it in the facelift models. My Dads first ST220 had a new set of rear doors FOC.

Only the ones that rusted out in the first few years. Ford got p**sed off doing them so started wriggling out of doing it by insisting that the service history had to have all the body checks stamped up by the Ford dealer at each service, so now there's lots of rusty ones about. My old TDDi estate had them going quite badly.

When I bought my Mk3 TDDI 115 it was only 4 years old at the time and all the bottoms of the doors were rusty, (it was a 51 plate) i contacted Ford and because I didnt have a dealer service history with corrosion checks they would'nt entertain me
It went well tho and pulled brill, I drove it unloved for 20k without servicing it then sold it
