406 de-cat ?
hi, has anyone ever come accross a de-cat pipe for an R.reg 406 2.0ltr turbo 8v (petrol) and if so where from and how much ?

you can get them for an hdi 290540790232 ebay, you could make this fit maybe

im thinking of just getting an old cat and cutting the cat part out and welding a bit of tube in place so that i can keep my cat for the mot

if you want to de-cat it buy another cat off a breaker/ebay and evict the inside of it put that on on and keep the original for mot times

I have read it makes the Turbo spool up a lot quicker on an HDI......Dont know about gains on a petrol mate. Luckily my 1990 Cossie does not need one

the one thats on is virtualy new,
i will find a used on take out the internals and then blank off the Egr

i used to have a cossie mate, dont get me wrong i loved it but when there tuned up there to unrelieable so i got rid,mind you i do miss the punch in the back of 364bhp

my old Nissan 200 was bullet proof with 430brake

but back on subject il be cutting the cat off and welding up a 65mm twin box system when ive got the new engine in.
98, Executive turbo estate in aluminum silver. The stealth wagon! Now departed, New project Xsara VTR-8 in progress, Next Project, 406 D8 / JAP. So will be looking for a 406 again when the xsara is done!
