Cleaning the exhaust manifold
Ive seen on that car im breaking the amount of shite on the inside of the exhaust pipe, or whatever it is that is metal and goes to the top of the intercooler. Would cleaning this out make a difference to the running of the car?

Re: Cleaning the exhaust manifold
Im interested in the EGR blanking, from what i understand its ok when its new, but when it gets old it makes the engine less efficent.
How do you do that then?

Re: Cleaning the exhaust manifold
its a good idea to have it done it can in some case's make a derv engine live longer, it'll make it run better as it not running on burnt gases, im doing this and getting rid of the cat then adding the i/c then its map time.FarmerPug wrote:you know i might buy his de egr kit. Re: Cleaning the exhaust manifold
so my car is a hdi 110 and i suppose with the dud egr its down a bit on 110. So the performance will be better with the blanking plate? Hopefully more than that time i unplugged that wire. Will a de egr bring up any Engine Management Issues.
As for the decat is the cat not the same as the FAP?

Re: Cleaning the exhaust manifold
as long as u leave the egr connected and just insert the blanking plate in the elbow it wont.FarmerPug wrote:so my car is a hdi 110 and i suppose with the dud egr its down a bit on 110. as for the cat unless u have a fap witch i doubt then a decat would be removing the first box in the exhaust system.

I have no FAP, but what help will a decat do, would this affect the car in the MOT emissions test.

Re: Cleaning the exhaust manifold
diesels dont have a emissions test they have a smoke test so no it wont affect it.FarmerPug wrote:well i contacted the seller he is going to send me the kit. And hopefully instructions.

it help the turbo spool up quicker thus giving better throttle responce and can improve the mpg too.

Re: Cleaning the exhaust manifold
the sig was not my work. I think it was either steve or welly and i just nabbed it, so the credit goes to whoever it was that made it. Tom jones is a fantastic singer.
Its a bit sh*t now.
Your sig on the other hand is fantastic.
Our 406s hit the fence with the rear of the car, if your in a HDI not at very much speed compared to a V6. But you will keep on going further than a 1.8
