Dash Warning Light

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Dash Warning Light

Post by gumby6371 »

good day all, just want to double check something.
On my way in to work this morning I was stopped at some lights with my foot on the brake pedal and I noticed a warning light pop up kind of like this (O) except the () bits were broken lines. Brake fluid level warning ?
I will obviously check under the bonnet but it's raining at the minute and I might melt :cheesy:

Moor your barge stern-on to the weather, then used the bonnet as a brolly. :cheesy:

Don't recognise the symbol from your description, maybe D9's is different? (No point asking my bro, 'Can't see any of them cos of the effin stoopid air bag'.

my guess is brake pad wear light, you are down to sensors

(two bits of wire that complete the circuit on the disc, hence coming on whilst your foot is on the brakes)

time for a new set off pads, me thinks

Brake pad wear, yes.

In my experience it comes on intermittently, normally only dimly, more often in the wet.

Pads may not need changing: check by looking!
