Anti theft wheel nut

When I bought my 406 two years ago I as usual first took off all the wheels for inspection. Just as well
because one anti-theft bolt had pretty well sheared off and it needed a work shop job to remove it. These anti-theft nuts to me are more trouble than they are worth although granted in some areas of the country where alloy wheels are a target I could be wrong. Anyway alloy wheel owners should check
that their anti-theft sockets/nuts are in sound condition in the event of a puncture. In my case a flat tyre on the motorway would definitely have meant a tow job. So £200/£300 saved.

pug locking nuts are crap, i always replace them with a set of after market ones that are cheeper and stronger. :cheesy:

ialways take them off and just replace them with a standard nut,
locking nuts dont do justice for me you can get them off in 5 secs withought a key ive not heard of alloy wheels getting knicked in years ithink theyve got bigger and better fish to fry so to speak

i do agree with Lozz the price of alloys are down as there fitted as staandard on car today not like years ago where you had to pay £1000 to get them from new lol

Never had a problem with my pug locking nuts i think they are
very good , any problem that occurs is usually caused by tyre
fitters who wack them on with a air gun . The tyre fitter i use
always does the locking nut by hand .
