2000 hdi aircon problems!

hi i have a 406 hdi and have just had the aircon condenser changed and system regassed, aircon worked fine that day but now wont kick in. system is holding pressure and if i put a feed to compressor it clicks in and out. have checked all fuses and are ok. autodata tells me there is an aircon relay behind fusebox under steering wheel and after a lot of sweaing and time i cannot find it. please please someone help me!!!!!!

ok so ive now spent all night tracing the compressor wire into the cat testing at points along the way. it goes into a unit under the fuse box which i believe is the bsi unit? if i dissconnect the connector which has the compressor wire in it i can power up it and it clicks in, if i test pin out unit it shows positive although a bit faint. but if i reconnect the wire shows negitive!!!! is this the bsi unit at fault???

There's a good chance the aircon compressor control relay, (in the BSI), is your problem. I have once seen a post about changing this relay, but can't remember whether it was on this, or the 406 coupe forum.

Try a search for 'BSI relay', 'BSI repair, or similar.

Could be worthwhile looking at the 2 resistors and relay that sit
at the side of the fan , the resistors are known to rot . When i
replaced mine everything suddenly worked .
