Fond memories of my dad's old BXs. I used to be amazed at the Radio hidey, and the fact it had a section especially for coins!

Although getting into one a couple of years ago, I was amazed at how flimsy it was!
The Xantia that replaced it was as solid as a 406 dash, minus the com2000.

The ZX dash was like a toned down BX dash, although it was solid enough too.

To be fair, I've written off 1 D8 and 2 D9's. Two of the three accidents were at double the speed of those NCAP tests and I only had bruises on my chest from the airbags and whiplash for a few days. Add the fact that when I have passengers in I don't wear a seat belt and I think they're actually pretty good in a crash - you all saw pics of the black D9 after I was used as an extra braking system for a VW beetle, and some of you may remember the blue pug that was a head-on thru a chicane by an immigrant delivering pizzas. The D8 was coming up a slip road and having an overladen volvo estate just coming back from a Calais booze run stall in front as I was checking my rear view mirrors for traffic coming up behind. Walked away from that one too. And.. although write offs, all three cars started and drove after impact

Maybe if you pull the steering wheel back out the cable will pull the front of the car back into shape!

that would be great, the car just comes back into shape by pulling it out.
what if someone pulls the engine out in an accident, does the steering wheel push into the car.

Archery is a lot of fun. There's a lot more satisfaction to be had (I find) in hitting a target with a bow and arrow than there is shooting it with a rifle.

Haven't done it in years, though. When I did it last, it was on one of those "team-building exercise" weekends. They had two disciplines - range, and popinjay. Range is as it sounds - target practise at a set range from your bullseye targets (known as "butts", humorously). Popinjay is where you shoot targets down from treetop height, and is a very different kettle of fish - it's supposedly target practise for bird hunters, where you shoot the birds out of the trees.

I kicked ass at popinjay.

its a theoben rapid 7 mk1, its a pneumatic one. Had a load of problems when i got it with air getting out but a £20 bag of seals sorted that.
I planned to get a spring one but my dad already has one so it was more him wanting this one instead that we ended up with it.

never tried them pneumatic ones,
ive got a BSA Lightning XL 22 its pretty good and its quiet im looking at getting something abit more powerful

Oooh, a real gun I'm surprised they still let people use air guns in the UK, do you need licenses for them?

I've seen quite a few guns while I've been here. They still scare the crap out of me (stand at the wrong end and your dead) so I've turned down offers to go shooting.

I've got an old Webley Diana So old and decrepit the seals are made of leather!!

i only got my theoben in december, i have not a single clue about guns. We have a rabbit problem eating the apple trees so my dad said to apply for a licence, his friend was selling the theoben so i bought it off him when i got the licence (although through a licenced gun shop), im told this is the best pneumatic gun you can get which i believe fully as ive never used another one. One flaw is if the bolt is back and the safety on i think its possible to accidentally flick forward the bolt and it can shoot which isnt safe, and i have lost a magazine, they are too easy lost. But it does not recoil thats one advantage.

To get the licence thats fun, you need pictures of you, character refrences, a lot of paperwork, and then install a gun cabinet, installed to the wall with rawl plugs, wait for the police to look at it, then send the form off, wait a while and then its ready, a gun shop wont sell you anything without the licence, and you seem to need to apply every time you want a new gun.
