I found some oil on my drive so had a little look around the bottom of the engine. The lid that covers the bottom of the engine has some oil in it. I removed the top plastic cover to find this......
Each lillte chamber is filled with oil? She had a service just over 1,000 miles ago using Total Quartz 9000 fully synthetic oil.
I thought it could be the rocked cover gasket but if you look you will see no traces of oil that could have run down from the rocker cover gasket?!!
Probably get a better answer in a mo but if it was me, i'd mop up the excess oil, and after next trip down road, check again, in case it's just spilt oil

I've got the same on mine & had the same on the Xantia too. Had a look at another member's car the other day though (Floodys) & he had similar puddles, but it seemed to be coming from a little plastic thing (highly technical me) on the right hand side (passenger side of the car though) of the engine.

Mine is exactly the same.I thought it was the rocker cover gasket but i still have`nt fitted it nearly 2 years after i brought it I dont seem to need to top up the engine oil between services,so i dont worry too much about it.

got round to taking it off and sealing it .
I'm pretty sure that's what Ian (Floodys) showed me on his GTX last week.

ive been cleaning mine off slowly with a rag rapped round a screwdriver its cleaning up slowly,
one day iwill steam clean it me thinks,
Exactly what I have done Lozz......Used a load of bog roll wrapped around the end of my screwdriver and got stuck in.....It is now all clean
Good thing is it does not smell of diesel and not loads of it.
Puggy..... Thanks for the pic. Where does it leak from on the air dozer, and when you say seal it could that be done with silicone as being in the building trade I have heaps of it!
Hi mastiff , looking at the pic it leaks on the left of the bolt a little
lower down , there are only 2 bolts holding it on so sealing it with
sealent could be a good idea . I do know the air dozer can also leak
from the butterfly valve thing you would have to check when you take
it off . It seems the dozer leaks fills the first recess overflows into
the next and so on .
