For £6k I'd be looking at 2nd hand C6s, Jag XFs and Lexuseses.

Fancy a 2001 Jaguar XKR, with the 4.2 litre supercharged V8, having covered 140,000 miles? £6,775 (and that's expensive for one of those here)

I love the original shape XKR. Stunning car, great engine. Insurance and petrol costs are the only things putting me off buying one.

Be careful my friend, spend your money wisely for he who spendeth 6000.00 coins upon a chariot hath only a chariot to his name. He who runs a modest chariot hath coins to his name to spendeth on a chair to sit upon to readeth his studies and buildeth upon his future whilst all around him sit in the dust.........

Spend £5995.00 on a chariot, and then spend £5.00 on a chair.

That way, you have a bog-standard chair (but a chair nonetheless), and a freakin' awesome chariot!

Most I've ever spent buying a car is £1500.

Some are great, some are lemons, some are in between and aren't too bad a car but need a lot of work.

For £6000 I'd be scared to park it in case it gets a dent!

most ive spent on buying a used car is £650

my last 3 cars cost this much exact the same.

for £6000 i would most definately be going for a well looked after SE 406 with low milage (there will be one out there)

and have a sh*t load of change :P

with £6000 id be tempted to go for a top spec c4, i think the 2.0 hdi is about 140-150 bhp in them, the 1.6 has 110 which is still lively but not when a turbo goes.
But then id want the 406 back, even if the trip computer says 40mpg and £20 of diesel doesnt pull it out of the red.
