Thing is my Insurance for the Focus costs me £1200.
These quotes are ontop of that £1200, and the fact I'm just over 6 months into the policy means they are likely to double.
I.e an Exec would cost me around £1700 to insure.
I'l wait until I reinsure the Focus and see what prices I'm getting then. They might be cheaper during next years policy.
I'd love an SE personally, you have Exec level of kit with a sportyness to it :)
Although that Mondeo is tempting. Just as much kit as the 406, 115bhp standard and remaps to 150bhp. Ontop of that theres no timing belt to worry about and £100 cheaper than the 406?

Well hopefully they drop the price this year. I'm still getting better quotes than all my mates though :)

I'd rather keep my Focus...

I can afford it, and hopefully It'll be going in tommorow to have the front suspension rebuilt.

But I want something bigger to waft about in :)

Insurance premiums seems to be far more sensitive to postcode than any other factor. (With everything else held constant my quote with Aviva is £650 in RG21 8 where I live but £1100 about a mile further out of town in RG23 8.)

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

My old TDDi was pretty nice with a good lot of power as standard, but the downside of them is that the clutches really don't last long. My one had a receipt for a clutch change at 70k & a few months later I drove an 84k TDCi with a knackered clutch.

I'd say thats pleanty for a clutch to last? The Focus did 70k on a clutch and I thought that was pleanty long enough?

That won't come for a year or so after I've had the car.
I want to get a solid crank pully, new timing belt & aux belt fitted.
If I get a 90 I'l get a new clutch fitted aswell, if I get a 110 I'l get a solid flywheel fitted aswell as a clutch.
Then I want to replace all the brakes with Mintex gear and fit goodrich brake hoses.
Lower the car on eibachs with new shocks and fit a strut brace.
And then if I don't like the alloys I have get some that I like and get a good set of rubber on them.

And thats before I even think about a remap or any audio gear
