key pad immobiliser on 406

Post by richiereality »

ive just bought a R plate 406, but it has no key pad immobiliser, the drop down flap is there but it is empty except for a block connector. the car starts and runs ok but should it have a key pad, or did they stop fitting them in97/98? or has someone had there fingers in and taken it out?

Some people remove them, just type code in as normal and start car then unplug it..

NOT advisable as it renders your insurance void if it gets stolen.

Hm I believe later models used a keycode inside the key instead of the keypad, but I could be wrong....
