Leaking on both sides

Post by FarmerPug »

its raining today and the cars leaking water.
its in through the top of the door, out through the alarm sensor on the a pillar, the sunroof its ok, the drainage pipes are clear and the rivets still have a dab of silicone in them, i took the doorseal off and the water seems to be getting in round the a pillar seal.
What other places can water get in round here?

i had the courtesy light out and its ok in the middle just the 2 corners.
Is this possible; it leaks down the windscreen corner, behind the door seal and in through the a pillar? Because after taking the door seal out thats what i thinks happening.

Frank as imentioned before your top windscreen seal is short in the corners,
it might be running in them corners and leaking in,

iwill take a picture of my windscreen seal shortly so u can compare it to yours the one on mine is definatly longer and theres no gaps in the corners,

By the way don't worry too much about the short seals on the widescreen because mine have it too,When i can i'll try to take a picture where it was leaking on my pug .. hold on cause your going to laugh, it was casing me a pain in the arss this leak, the water was travelling from a place to another in the cortesy lights/ sunroof console... and sometimes it went to the edge of the roof on the passenger side ..

It was luck to find where the leak was, because the place it was going throw is impossible ...

Here they are :

Somehow the water was going throw behind that, don't ask me how the water could be going down then going up... as you can see it was sealed all over and the leak was gone ...

I mainly sealed in the front.. there is this mini-mini-mini gap between the outside mate/plate and the indoor mate/plate , the water was passing throw there, which is very difficult to happen because they are in very different angles and shape, but in fact was in there .... hope it helps you, try sealing it.
