Anythings got be better than a Robin reliant,
think your going to have to stick to your bmxs if you dont want to pay Todays insurance prices

I learned to drive on a 1971 Lada, don't even say anything about lack of power steering or lorry-like clutches

In Soviet Russia, steering wheel wrestle you
And you didn't have to pay 3 grand to insure a car, did you?
Never been a BMX man myself, I prefer all terrain bikes, infact I built a fair few and sold them while I was back in Bulgaria.

actually on the spec sheets the 1.2 engine is quite archaic, 8 valves i thought it was just expected for modern petrols to have 16, and then the diesel goes one further by getting a turbo and some more cubes. But thats on paper, a small fiat needs to be petrol so you can rev the shite out of it they sound great at high revs. But i suppose the diesel would be good it does get much better mpgs and you still have the great handling.
But the ultimate panda is still the 100hp :

it actually looks good in white, but they are too expensive right now
I know what you mean about small petrols. My granddad now has an Agila 1.0 which Im using as a summer run-about when I go back to Bulgaria this year, it's basically half a V6! Makes a jolly good sound and feels like it's going twice as fast as the speedo's showing. I'll probably sign for a delivery company though and go around my local area delivering packages to pay for the car and insurance so I guess I'll cover quite a lot of miles and considering the cost of LPG I reckon diesel is the better choice. My main problem with the 100hp is the insurance AND the starting costs, besides the diesel has a turbo so it's easy to fiddle around with it.
PS: I'm probably going to do a 100hp body, suspension and brake conversion anyway, I mean the insurers wouldn't notice, would they?
