I've got Volvo Disease

Post by Welly »

I've been travelling to my current place of work for two and a half years now doing the same (favoured) journey day in day out but had to go home a different way the other day to collect something. Surprised at my seeming speedy arrival back at Welly Towers I decided to try this other route (not so favoured due to a bit of traffic).

Well bugger my old boots, this other route is 2 miles less

I could have/will be saving 20 miles a week or 1000 miles a year  (£240.00 in petrol).

There was good reason for my previous routings as it's a cracking run but bugger that if I can save a bit of miles

Cue: 'old twat' jokes etc.........

Mate... you got a T5!
You shouldn't be looking at how much petrol it's using, just wait for the light and fill it up :p

Mine came with 3 rear headrests, but I retrired one in favour of being able to reverse the bugger.

Another thought....

Since:
a) welly freely admits he sets out rediculously early of a morning
b) the majority of colleges tend to start around 9:00
c) he only travels a 'fairly short distance'

something doesn't add up. :?

Is he pushing the Volvo to work & back?
Chugging along on the starter to save fuel/whales/planet earth?

Worrying, isn't it?

Does the car "unexpectantly" cough and splutter and come to a stop outside said colleges?????

I bet he has the fuel pump on a switch on the dash

I know I would

Come to think of it, his 406 had one of the most protracted lift pump failures in the history of motoring.....

The shorter one to be fair. Big FAIL on my part

Doggy, I do miss the best time slots to be honest but, if I leave bang-on 5pm can mostly catch some of the 'dregs' at the end of the day and lets not forget lady-lecturers are not to be sniffed at when you get to my age :|
