I'd dread to think how much that little lot would cost to buy here, probably 4 times as much. May I ask how it is being shipped?

I don't know what Ade is using, however he said the shipping will cost around 300£. He made us pay only 150£ of that, plus the 1065£ of the various items.

can't wait for them to arrive!

yep! :cheesy:

Ade did even do some discounts on the items so I guess he made us save two or three hundred bucks over his normal prices - very nice indeed! Lightining fast replies to emails too.

EDIT: in the picture you can see a little white package courtesy of mister Eric dogslife, many thanks to him too!

WTF? You planning on building a pair of new cars with all that?

Do I take it you've got a plan for repairing those bumpers that have been cut in half?
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

They are going to be used from a local member to repair and strenghten his own bumpers. :cheesy:

Bah, I've had bad experiences with all of the shipping companies, I've decided that no one is better than the others and it's only a matter of luck. :(

I bought a 21inch CRT monitor from eBay once (my old monitor had died and LCD screens were still waaaay expensive). The seller used DHL as the courier. The monitor arrived in a box that (I sh*t you not) had footprints all over it. Needless to say, the monitor was in bits, the screen was smashed; it was a complete mess.

The seller was good enough to send me another one free of charge. It arrived bashed and the glass on the screen was badly scratched, and the screen itself was actually hanging off the front of the monitor - but it worked (had to use it as I had no monitor at all).

Incidentally, a 21in CRT monitor weighs an absolute f*cking ton. Probably why the DHL muppets were using their feet to shove the thing about (probably shoved it off their truck onto a concrete warehouse floor once or twice, too).

I now have an LCD monitor that I bought locally. There are no CRT screens in my house any more.

I had an Apple 21" trinitron monitor, it weighed a ton and took up a big desk on it's own, but at the time the picture quality was superb and it seemed to have huge screen reserve (compared to modern 26" widescreen monitors where I seem to be constantly scrolling horizontally across spreadsheets).

We still have a 26" CRT Panasonic TV in the bedroom, it could be used for a strongest man competition and takes up an entire chest of drawers, but picture quality is more than adequate with a freeview box hooked up.

I wouldn't even trust DHL with an LCD monitor. Home Delivery Network / "yokel" or whatever they call themselves now are just as bad.

I hate CityLink the most. They ALWAYS try to deliver packages when I'm at work and the house is empty (not their fault, I know) but they don't leave the package with our neighbour (even if we write a note and stick it on our door).

No, they leave a card, and I have to drive over to Altens to collect it. Thing is, that their parcel collections place (until very recently) only opened Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, which is COMPLETELY USELESS. I had to take time off work to go there and collect parcels. I ended up stopping buying things from companies that used them to ship packages.
