Think i'll stick with a duff rev counter for now!

2.0HDi 306 has the same ratios as the 2.1. I.e. 2500rpm at 70mph in 5th instead of 3000rpm for the 1.9.dogslife wrote:Wouldn't that give you the 'shorter' ratios, same as a 1.9? (My Xsara HDi 90 was about 28.5 mph/1000).
Suspect a gutsy, tuned 2.1 could reduce a BE series 'box to it's component parts fairly quickly
I've got one of these that I need to fit:Bailes1992 wrote:My 1.9TD went like stink on a 22psi tune, adavcned the pump, fettle with the boost compensator and run it on veg oil.
I imagine a 2.1 running even 18psi will be pretty quick!
This will soon be an MOT failure, apparentlyCalamityJames wrote:although leaves the check engine light on
Bulb's already taken out, there's no way around it. It's on because the engine is running without a pump according to the ECU!highlander wrote:This will soon be an MOT failure, apparentlyCalamityJames wrote:although leaves the check engine light onYou'll want to figure out why this is and sort it out (or remove the EML bulb immediately before your MOT)
In an ideal world this is what I'd do, but the plug for the EPIC pump had quite a lot of pins on it, plus I left it with KrisB!highlander wrote:I reckon you should find a way of fooling the engine into believing there is a pump there - that way, if another condition occurs that would ordinarily trigger the EML, then you won't know about it. Maybe there is a component of the original Lucas EPIC pump that you could remove from the pump and adapt to the Bosch pump?
Disclaimer - I have no actual knowledge or experience of either of these pumps or the way they work/interact with the ECU
I wish I knew, I don't know enough about the 406 to know what is controlled by what. The fact that swapping the ECUs round fixed the tachometer suggests to me that it does more than simply control the pump, but it's a question of how much it controls!dogslife wrote:ecu does not reply?
(or am I missing something)?
