would this work if the house is on the end of a terrace?

how long does it take to start these up, say it gets unplugged and turned on again will it establish a connection again instantly? And is a single pack just one (what can you do with one on its own?)
But im still liking the idea of the Wireless bridge its just £20 and it should get good signal because the routers only about 4 metres away from the tv and all other wireless devices get the full signal when beside the tv.

On the usb port, i had a play with it last night, i did manage to view some pictures on a slideshow with it, it was amazing the quality of the photos on a 40inch screen and they had only been taken with an iphone.

We use the USB port for looking through holiday pics etc, just plug the camera straight in and start the slideshow!

The single packs are to add extra plugs into the network, there's no point buying one on its own unless you already own 2

Start up time is almost instant, about 5 seconds after switching on, and you can set a password on the units so that people in the terrace can't plug in and use your network

The shop told us the USB connector was only for the wireless adaptor! Will have to try it.

Our tv has two USB plugs, one where you can plug the camera or usb pen in, the other is for as its labeled USB HDD, my aunt got a really cheap one out of asda the other day so it might be a plan for the future then you can record stuff.

is this the same then as your powerline adaptor:

i found the thing in my shed its a belkin wireless repeate but it has no plug or cd they are lost somewhere

Interesting, although as a general rule of thumb these days, at least for work, I try to avoid any form of wireless, unless the item is a phone or laptop I try and get some sort of wired connection, whether it be a normal ethernet cable or HomePlug adaptors

I got the argos one there, it was on offer for £40, argos is good because you can get it there and then.
Really easy to set up, had to use my dads computer though for windows, but it did it in 5 minuites.
Here it is plugged into the back of our tv and held on with the velcro supplied (its just fell off as i type):


A few more minuites and the tv got set up, the internet browser is a bit iffy without a keyboard but the screen is huge, i got top gear on the i player:

its a great job now, i downloaded an iphone app now i can control the tv, handy when the remote gets lost down the back of the sofa, and its easier to use the keyboard:

Hi people,
been a while since i posted, but i do always(guiltily!) have a trawl if i'm having problems with my 406!
I noticed this thread and thought i could have helped, but it seems you are sorted now.
I bought one of these Sony TV's last xmas, 'cos we needed a new tv (with HD!), then found out it had i/net capability!
Bought a pair of those homeplug adaptors and it works a treat. you toob, BBC i player, channel 5 on demand are the only real internet things i can get, though i believe new ones will have more available.there are many other small 'channels' from Sonyy, too. Being able to access my PC is handy for looking at stuff, IF i had films on my hard drive, i could watch them too!!!
The only hassle is you have to transcode them first, so the TV can read them ( i use Vuze!)

Meanwhile, back to searching for any new comments on the 'clutch disappearing to the floor of its own accord', and 'lack of power at around 1500 revs on an HDI' threads!!

Oh dear!!
Not much use i'm afraid!!!
Apparently, as i've just found out, my TV (the latest up to date one at the end of last year) is obsolete, and has been superceded by better ones!
8 months old and out of date!!!!!!!!!!!
the plan was to add more to the menu for i player type things.
Sorry, not sure about the hdd recording thing!!

as long as your connected to the same wifi network as the tv the sony bravia app picks it up and connects
