It's my 2nd peugeot - I used to have a little 106 1.5D which was surprisingly economical years ago.
Looking forward to using it, and hopefully checking in to this forum every once in a while.

Now you have a brilliant car, but admit your first Peugeot was even better... I had a 106 1.5XND and boy do I regret my mum got a New Clio instead of keeping it.
It was dirty, it smelled bad, suspensions were gone, engine was slow, interior was destroyed. But it still did 28km/l (around 75mpg - yes!!!) with 320000km on it (200k miles) and almost no service in the last 80000km. Still handled like a more expensive car even though it had crappy old tyres. What a great car.

Those were quick responses. Fair play. Most helpful.
As i'd guessed, it's a case of 'getting used to it' I suppose, much like any car.
I'll check the engine mounts when it stops p*ssing down outside, but I might just go down the 'bit of sponge' route as suggested for the indicator stalk. Amazing was a nice bit of sponge can do.
anyway - many thanks again. I;ll check out the foggy foglight lens guide right away.
Is there a 'thanks' button on these forums at all? Can't find one, but if there was, you'd all have a thanks from me.

I agree 100%. My old 106 was (for a diesel car anyway) a great fun car and very very chuckable into corners, using the throttle to help it around and cut down the understeer. I put some A539s or Avons on the front of it once as a treat, and to be honest, I preferred the handling with cheaper tyres. seems the cheaper tyres had a tendancy to slide/drift a lot more gradually than the better ones. I suppose much like the diference between cross-ply tyres and radials really.
Anyway, glad to be back in Peugeot territory.
Gotta love the automatic wipers and lights as well!
Regarding the Rear View Mirror. I have exactly the same without any engine mount issue's. Flummaxed for a little while but then realised that at some point in the cars life the windscreen has been replaced.
Now the original way the mirror fitting was stuck to the windscreen was it was bonded using a glass resin mix. Once the screen has been replaced, the windscreen company do not bond it back on but use the halfords double sided adhesive pads. You've guessed it they have flex in them especially in warm weather, this is why they vibrate.
To solve remove the mirror from the fixing post with a upward push, remove the double sided pads between the post and the screen and clean with isopropanol or alcohol. This has to be spotless, use a old razor blade if neccessary to remove all old traces of glue. Then use a good quality glue such as Loctite Rear View Mirror Bonder (check ebay) to bond metal fixing post back to glass. This will take some time to afix but dont be tempted to rush this, best actually left overnight if possible, before finally fixing mirror back onto the post and no vibration.
Getting some slight 'clunking' from the front over slightly bumpy roads. It doesn't seem to be assosiated with 'big bumps', but it's more to do with smaller bumps and undulations in the road.
Clunk sounds like something's a bit loose. My old Mk3 Astra did the same, and that was down to the strut tops needing replacing.
Any ideas on where to look first for this elusive 'clunk'????
Drop links are the usual suspects for this, (try a search - hours of bedtime reading there).
I also had similar symptoms from a headlight with a broken mounting bracket, (and still have).
